Wan-Ting and James celebrated their wedding at the stunning Holmewood Hall, bringing together British traditions and meaningful Taiwanese cultural moments in the most seamless way. Their day felt warm, joyful and deeply personal, filled with thoughtful details that reflected who they are as a couple.
As a Somerset wedding videographer, it was a privilege to capture a story that blended two worlds with such natural elegance.
Holmewood Hall Wedding Morning: A Calm and Joyful Start

Their Holmewood Hall wedding began with a gentle, relaxed morning as both of them got ready inside the venue. James prepared in the Lord Bramer Suite, while Wan-Ting got ready in the Renaissance Suite. The atmosphere felt bright and calm, which suited the confident and heartfelt nature of their day. Their focus was not on a traditional first look but on the moment James would see Wan-Ting as they walked into the ceremony together. This choice created a beautiful sense of intention.
Holmewood Hall Ceremony Filled With Culture and Meaning

Their ceremony at Holmewood Hall was one of the most memorable parts of the day, bringing together heartfelt traditions and beautifully personal details.
These moments stood out:
- An introduction to Taiwanese wedding culture that set a thoughtful tone for the ceremony.
- The iconic guiding chicken carried by the best man, which brought smiles and symbolism to their aisle entrance.
- A meaningful Taiwanese Tea Ceremony in the Gold Room, surrounded by red accents and delicate florals.
- A joyful confetti toss outdoors that filled the grounds with colour and excitement.
- A charming miniature railway ride that added fun and personality to the celebration.
Each moment added depth and character to their fusion wedding, creating a ceremony that felt both meaningful and wonderfully unique.
Their Story: From Bumble to a Beautiful Wedding Day

Wan-Ting and James met on Bumble and quickly discovered how naturally they connected. Their first date at The Alchemist Nottingham felt easy and full of promise. A year later, James proposed at Padley Gorge in the Peak District. Wan-Ting wore a jumper with a bold “YES” on the front. The detail was playful and perfectly them.
They wanted their wedding to reflect both of their lives and cultures. Red and champagne tones, Chinese Double Happiness symbols and traditional pastries brought warm meaning to every part of their Holmewood Hall celebration.
Evening at Holmewood Hall: Outfit Change, Sparklers and Ceilidh Dancing

After the wedding breakfast and speeches, Wan-Ting and James took time to change into elegant Chinese-inspired evening outfits. They welcomed their evening guests with sparklers, which created glowing and emotional moments for their wedding film. Their first dance, paired with indoor confetti, looked magical against Holmewood Hall’s soft lighting.
The ceilidh dancing that followed brought everyone together and added lively energy to the night. Their families had travelled from across the world, so these shared moments felt even more special.
When they imagine watching their wedding video in ten years, they know what will stand out. It is the way they look at each other. Capturing those glances was an honour.
Why Holmewood Hall Was the Dream Venue

Holmewood Hall was an ideal choice for their fusion wedding. The venue offered the space and elegance they wanted, while also being practical for guests travelling from different parts of the UK and abroad. The red brick exterior, landscaped grounds and timeless interiors created a rich cinematic backdrop for every scene.
They visited the venue before they were even engaged and knew it felt right. Its size fit their guest list, and its location made travel easy because of the LNER line through Peterborough. This was especially meaningful because Wan-Ting works for LNER and could help guests with discounted travel. Holmewood Hall offered beauty, culture and convenience in one place.
