Henrietta and Lewis’ Sophisticated Wedding at Mill Farm Glamping

Henrietta and Lewis created a wedding weekend that felt relaxed, heartfelt and deeply personal. Their day blended the beauty of the Wiltshire countryside with thoughtful touches that reflected their story from the very beginning.

As a Somerset wedding videographer, it was a privilege to capture their connection, their joy and the outdoorsy elegance that shaped every part of their celebration.

A Wedding Morning Full of Meaning at Mill Farm Glamping

Mill Farm Glamping provided the calm, homely setting they wanted for their morning preparations. It felt like the perfect place to begin their weekend. Henrietta got ready in the farmhouse with her closest people, enjoying the anticipation that comes with years of planning finally turning into a real wedding morning. She also shared a first look with her dad at 12:45, which brought happy emotion to the room. Mill Farm Glamping was ideal for these intimate moments because it offered space, comfort and privacy.

Meanwhile, Lewis prepared at Oakwood Shire’s House on the same site. This allowed both partners to be close without seeing one another before the ceremony. It also meant their morning stayed relaxed and unhurried, which was important to them both.

A Joyful Church Ceremony and Their First Moments as Newlyweds

Their ceremony took place at St John’s Church in Devizes. The church sits at the heart of the town and created a traditional yet welcoming atmosphere for their vows. The ceremony began at 2pm and ended around 2:45pm. After walking back up the aisle, the couple joined a guard of honour before stepping into a confetti moment surrounded by their guests. These scenes are the ones they know they will return to in their wedding film for years. Their happiness walking together as newlyweds is a memory they treasure.

Once they left the church, the couple returned to Mill Farm Glamping for private photos at the farmhouse. The outdoor space, soft light and natural setting captured the sophisticated yet countryside feel they had hoped for.

Arriving in a Mini Moke and an Afternoon of Food, Music and Fun

Arriving in true style set the pace for Henrietta and Lewis’ unforgettable afternoon. Their reception blended personality, atmosphere and pure joy, giving everyone something to talk about.

Here are a few of the standout moments that shaped the flow of their celebration:

  • Their 4pm arrival in Henrietta’s dad’s Mini Moke sparked instant excitement as guests gathered from 3:30pm
  • Cutting the cake with a sword at 5:15pm added a fun, memorable twist
  • A big group photo outside the marquee brought everyone together before the evening began
  • Their 5:40pm marquee entrance, complete with music and napkins swinging, set the tone for a lively night

With outdoor space being such an important part of their vision, Mill Farm Glamping felt like the perfect match. The reception flowed seamlessly between the open fields, the marquee and the farmhouse. As a wedding videographer, having this much natural space to work with allowed me to capture the countryside setting they love so much.

Meaningful Speeches and Sunset Moments

Speeches began at 5:45pm. The Father of the Bride, the Groom and the Best Men all spoke with humour and affection. Their words brought out the heart of the day. Lewis had looked forward to delivering his speech and it became one of his favourite memories.

As the evening continued, the light softened across the fields and created beautiful cinematic opportunities for their wedding film. They also took fun photos with their wedding party and gathered everyone for a big military photo, reflecting the friendships that brought them together.

A First Dance with Confetti and a Night to Remember

Henrietta and Lewis shared their first dance at 8:30pm with confetti cannons adding even more atmosphere. Their guests surrounded them with energy, and the dance floor quickly filled. The Hype, their band, kept the evening lively and helped create the upbeat, sophisticated feel they had envisioned.

Their Story: From Polzeath to the Aisle

The couple met through the military. Lewis and Henrietta’s brother started their Royal Marines journey together in 2015. In 2017, during an Easter holiday in Polzeath, their paths crossed again. Their first date took place in February 2019 at a Bath Rugby match. Soon after, weekends together became normal, and the first lockdown solidified their time in Devizes.

Their engagement in July 2024 was simple, personal and completely them. Lewis proposed while they were staying in a shepherd’s hut near Saltash. Henrietta had planned the weekend thinking it would be a quiet break during Lewis’s ten days of R&R. It turned into the start of their next chapter.

Why Mill Farm Glamping Was Perfect for Their Wedding

Mill Farm Glamping suited their vision because it offered a complete weekend space where guests could stay, relax and celebrate. They held a pizza and beers evening on the Friday and a lunch for family friends on the Sunday. The site also allowed them to get ready separately, return after the ceremony and enjoy time in a homely farmhouse setting.

They both grew up loving the outdoors, and the venue’s natural setting connected with their love of space, sport and countryside life. Mill Farm Glamping gave them freedom to design a reception that felt personal. It also offered space for the marquee, suppliers and every detail they wanted to include.
