Wondering where to begin with wedding entertainment ideas? The possibilities are endless, from live music to magicians. As a wedding videographer, I have seen countless entertainment options, but some truly stand out, adding a unique flair to your wedding video as well as your big day. Here, are eight of my favourite, fun wedding entertainment ideas that will not only delight your guests but also enhance your wedding video. Here are 8 Unforgettable Wedding Entertainment Ideas That Will Enhance Your Wedding Video:

Symbolic Ceremony

Whether you have a religious or civil wedding ceremony, including music, readings and poems will make it even more unique to you as a couple. You could also opt to include a symbolic ritual. Whether hand-fasting, a unity candle or a sand ceremony, these symbolic rituals add an extra layer of meaning to your ceremony and a sentimental element to the wedding video, too. The picture above was from a lovely outdoor ceremony at Splotts Moor Farm.

Four-legged Friends

While they might temporarily steal your limelight, animal appearances at weddings are always a huge hit with wedding guests. Invite friendly four-legged friends to join the celebration – dressed in their best floral collars, of course! Whether you arrive on a horse-drawn carriage, take a short walk with Alpacas or your pooch makes a surprise appearance, including animals gives you even more moments to capture on camera.

Garden Games

Fun for all ages, set up games like Giant Genga, Boules and Limbo for your guests to play during the welcome reception. Choose games that add to your wedding theme for cohesive styling. Think pastel-coloured space hoppers or floral-painted tin cans for Tin Can Alley. Getting footage of guests playing games always makes for a fun wedding video.

Speech Bingo

Pop a wedding-themed bingo card on each place setting for guests to play word bingo as the speeches take place. This creates an extra element of fun to the speeches and ensures your guests are all engaged and listening. The first speaker can announce a prize for the fastest person to complete their bingo card.

Table Chefs

Make your wedding reception an interactive dining experience by serving sharing boards. Appoint one guest from each table as the ‘table chef’, providing them with carving tools and a chef’s hat! Let them take charge of carving meats from sharing platters at their respective tables. The theatrical element is great fun and perfect for the camera – it certainly breaks the ice, too.

Ceilidh Band

Everyone enjoys live music at a wedding and a Ceilidh band is no exception. This type of band performs traditional folk music and gets everyone up on the dance floor with simple, set dance routines. We had a lovely band perform a set recently at Leigh Court.

Photobooth Snaps

A photo booth is another way to capture the fun, candid moments of your guests. Provide props and a backdrop that complements your wedding theme and guests can let loose and adopt silly poses in front of the camera.

Firework Finale

End your wedding day with one final surprise, a firework send-off. Head outside and pose together as newlyweds as the fireworks light up the sky and signal a dazzling end to your special day. We work a lot with Sonic Fireworks who cover Somerset and the South West if you are looking for some more information on adding these to your wedding day they even did this display at a wedding we captured at Old Down Manor Estate.
