On 12th June 2025, Abi and Josh tied the knot at the stunning Hornsbury Mill in Chard, Somerset. Their wedding day was intimate yet full of energy, with 47 of their nearest and dearest gathered to celebrate. From the lakeside vows to a joyful handfasting ritual, every moment overflowed with love and laughter. Guests even hopped aboard a miniature train that ran throughout the afternoon, adding a playful twist to the elegant celebrations.

The Road to Hornsbury Mill: Abi & Josh’s Beginning
Abi and Josh’s love story began years ago when they were classmates in school. Their bond grew stronger during their Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition, and later, when their friendship group reunited in college, romance blossomed. It felt only fitting that Josh proposed in the gardens of Buckingham Palace in May 2023 as they celebrated completing their DofE journey together.

When it came to choosing a venue, Abi and Josh fell in love with Hornsbury Mill. The staff’s dedication to creating a personal and accommodating experience sealed the deal. Guests were treated to a unique ride on a miniature train that ran throughout the afternoon, adding a playful and memorable twist to the day. The atmosphere was relaxed yet classy, reflecting the couple’s love for road trips, adventures, and Josh’s passion for railways.
Personal Touches That Made Their Wedding Unique
Abi began her morning at Hornsbury with hair and makeup by Charley Arnold and the team at Hair Inspirations. The bridal prep was full of emotion, with special first looks with her bridesmaids and father. Josh got ready close by before joining his groomsmen, Best Man Tom, and his parents, Sarah and Daren, by the lakeside.
The ceremony was deeply personal. After exchanging vows, Abi and Josh marked their union with a handfasting ritual, symbolising their unbreakable bond. The confetti shoot that followed captured pure joy, with laughter and cheers filling the air.
The speeches set the tone for the rest of the day. Both Josh and his Best Man spoke with warmth, humour, and heartfelt words that had everyone smiling. Later, Abi and Josh shared their first dance around 7:30 pm before the evening disco took over, ensuring the celebrations continued long into the night.
