Love stories often begin in unexpected ways, and for Laura and Kye, it started online before their fruitless search for fossils on the wrong side of a beach. Years later, their engagement was a touching and private moment at the bottom of their garden, complete with their dog, Bonnie, and a bow.
Their wedding day at the magnificent Hestercombe House & Gardens was a testament to their love story, a perfect blend of heartfelt emotion and joyous celebration.
A Love Story Blossoms at Hestercombe House & Gardens

Laura and Kye’s journey to the altar is a modern romance with a deeply personal touch. Their love story began online, which led to a memorable first date spent fossil hunting at Kilve beach. They later laughed about being on the wrong side, but the experience set the tone for their relationship. Kye’s proposal was equally unique and intimate, taking place at the bottom of their garden while picking tomatoes, with their beloved dog, Bonnie, serving as a co-conspirator.
This heartfelt and personal approach to their relationship continued on their beautiful wedding day. They chose the stunning setting of Hestercombe House & Gardens for their nuptials, a place where their love story could truly blossom amidst the beautiful spring gardens.
Timeless Elegance and Spring Splendour at Hestercombe House & Gardens

Laura and Kye’s special day unfolded on 25 May 2025 amidst the breathtaking beauty of Hestercombe. They chose a spring pastel theme with vintage touches, which harmonised wonderfully with the vibrant gardens in full bloom. This choice perfectly reflected their personalities and the natural beauty of the historic Somerset venue.
The couple said their vows in the stunning Orangery, a beautiful and light-filled space that provided the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. The day was a seamless transition from the tranquil outdoor spaces to the celebratory indoor halls, showing why Hestercombe House & Gardens is such a sought-after wedding location.
Vows, Whippets, and Joy

Surrounded by 72 of their nearest and dearest, Laura and Kye exchanged vows in a truly personal and emotional ceremony. The atmosphere was filled with love and laughter from the moment Laura had her emotional first look with her bridesmaids. To everyone’s delight, their two beloved whippets walked down the aisle, adding a uniquely personal and unforgettable touch.
As a Somerset wedding videographer, my job is to capture every one of these precious moments, from the nervous excitement to the tears of joy. These are the moments that truly tell the story of the day and will be cherished for years to come.
A Celebration of Laughter, Music, and Surprise

Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests moved to the Bampfylde Hall for an evening of celebration. The speeches were a mix of touching sentiments and hilarious anecdotes, especially during the open mic session where friends and family shared their wishes for the happy couple. The energy in the room was electric, building up to a truly magical first dance.
To everyone’s surprise, a live saxophonist emerged to play, filling the hall with music and getting everyone on their feet. As a Somerset wedding videographer, I was there to document every laugh, every tear, and every dance floor moment, ensuring the party atmosphere was captured forever.
